Frequently Asked Questions

What is life coaching?

Life coaching is a process that is designed to bridge the gap between where you currently are in life, to where you want to be.
In our modern society it is too easy to get caught up in the endless responsibilities of our busy lives. We have complicated lives to the extent that we often lose sight of our true purpose, and may need help in being reconnected with our passions, talents, hobbies, and goals.

Just like anything in life that you want to improve, hiring the help of a professional is the fastest and most effective way to get results. I will guide, support and challenge you throughout your journey and keep you on track to create your transformational change, and empower you to reach a level of fulfilment.

My role as a life coach is to facilitate positive change through empowerment, thought patterns and behaviour. The coaching process is based on the understanding that you the client already have within them the required resources to create positive change.

How will coaching help me?

Anyone who wants to improve their life can benefit from life coaching. Just like a personal trainer can help you achieve your fitness goals, a life coach can help you achieve goals in just about any area. The expertise of a life coach is the mind-set, which is the driving force behind human behaviour. We are trained to identify the root cause of behaviour. Many people feel a sense that something is holding them back, but are unable to pinpoint where the problem lies. Coaching will eliminate the confusion around what you want and provide clarity, by identifying and breaking down blockages within the mind-set.

Is life coaching like counselling?

Life coaching is quite different to counselling. Whilst counselling tends to be more focused on the past, life coaching is solution-focused. Counselling is generally conducted on the assumption that healing is required, whereas life coaching works with the assumption that the client is already whole and complete.

Do life coaches tell people how to live their lives?

Not at all. Coaching sessions are centered on the client’s agenda, and are 100% judgement free. This is the beauty of coaching, in that you are provided with a space to identify your own thoughts in a safe environment. You decide the destination or path you’d like to take, and the coach acts as a vehicle to help you get there.

what is Interview Coaching?

I can help manage situations that may be hindering your career and develop career road-maps so you make the right career decision at the right time. If you are looking for career growth or possibly even planning a radical shift in your career and want professional guidance, I have the knowledge to help and support you to achieve your professional goals.

The interview is one of the key elements of the job search process. As with any skill, we can get better at it with preparation and practice. When working with me we will explore how to prepare for an interview and become familiar with the types of questions to expect, as well as the questions they should think about asking. You will learn how to prepare for second interviews, testing, and shadowing, as well as how to follow up on their interview sessions. However much preparation you do beforehand, going into an interview is usually slightly nerve-wracking. Do not make the mistake of thinking that, after entering the room, the situation is out of your hands. There are still a number of techniques you can use to make sure the panel sees you in the best possible light.
